Our Pastor

Vincent L. Golden, Sr. was born on March 30, 1967 in Jackson, Tennessee to Cleveland and Lela Bell Golden. He attended Madison County Schools in Tennessee. He graduated from West High School in 1985 and enrolled at the Jackson State Community College. He is the proud husband to Lady Sonia Golden they are the parents of 4 daughters, Tshura, Nyir, Ashley, Kierra and 1 son Vincent “V.J. Golden, Jr.

Pastor Golden  was ordained as a Deacon in 1994 under the leadership of Rev. Ronald Bowens at the Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta Georgia, while there he was a Youth group Leader where he organized the group “From boys to Men” in 1995.

In 1996 Pastor Golden answered God’s call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was licensed in 1997 by the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Fl. In October of 1999 he was ordained by the Triune Missionary Baptist Church were he was Co-Founder and Associate Minister. While serving at the Triune Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Gregory Mason, Pastor Golden organized several different ministries such as Young men group “Men Inheriting Blessings” he was also president of the Brotherhood, Alternate Bible Study Teacher and Sunday school teacher. After moving to Ohio in 2003, he served as Associate Minister of the Springhill Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Thomas L. Hicklin. He served in several positions within the church, including Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher, Chairman of Men Ministry and Youth Leader. Pastor Golden graduated from United Bible Theological Seminary in Orlando Florida in May of 2006 with an Associates Degree in Biblical Studies.  

Pastor Golden has taken his calling from God seriously. His heart’s desire and sincere prayer is to preach, teach, and minister God’s Holy Word on a level that all people can understand. After taking on the responsibility of becoming the Pastor of New Zion Baptist Church, he has been committed to building a ministry at New Zion that meets the total needs of his parishioners, as well as the community. Pastor Golden serves in several ministries in the city as well as national. He is currently the recording secretary for the Baptist Pastors Conference of Columbus and Vicinity. He also serves as 2^nd Vice Moderator of the Eastern Union Missionary Baptist Association, and Executive Treasure for Church Alive Ministries International.

Pastor Golden sees New Zion as a vibrant church striving for a closer walk with the Lord, through discipleship, evangelism, biblical sound preaching and teaching. To equip the saints for effective evangelism through out the city and world. His vision is to develop a Multi-Congregation committed to God and his plan for their lives. To develop a Day Care and a Senior Care Facility that will bless the church and community. To develop a stronger worship through the word of God.
